Here is where I will chronicle (because it is sure to be an epic journey) my massive undertaking of going from 312 pounds and sedentary, to a healthy weight and running a 5k. Come along with me...

Day 200 (My Triumphant Return!)
Many of you know that my day jobs are being a Mommy and a Senior Fitness Trainer. For those of you that do not know: being a Mommy is pretty self-explanatory. Being a Senior Fitness Trainer is not.
Basically what I do is go to nursing homes/assisted living and teach an exercise class to senior citizens of all capabilities. I have students who are completely lucid and just as mobile as they were in their 20's. I also have students who are bedridden 90% of the time or in the late stages of Dementia. And all stages in between. Pretty much if there is a disease or disorder (physical or mental) that exists, I have a student that has it, and it's my job to keep their bones and muscles as healthy as possible so that they can maintain as much independence and have the best quality of life as they want.
It's demanding but I love it.
Basically what I'm trying to say is that it's not out of the ordinary for people I train to pass away suddenly. Thankfully I haven't had anyone pass away yet, but it's looming, a few of my students aren't doing so hot. And I know that it is something that I'm going to have to cope with because it is going to happen.
So I had to either come home and cry all afternoon or go for a run to burn off this sadness about it. I chose to run. Injured or not.
I did some Googling and found a few different ways to tape my ankle for extra support. The way I tried today didn't help much. lol
The run went fine, I did the neighborhood loop without stopping (about a mile). My ankle didn't hurt anymore or less than it normally does. The bottom of my right foot felt tight, and so did my calves. It felt like my muscles were out of practice and not sure of what to do. I think some extra stretching and fluids will help.
Now it's time to take the kiddies to the waterfall in Hastings! Have happy runs lovelies!
